Cool Kitchen Tips for a Хрущевка That Everyone Can Replicate
5 m² That Will Surprise You
A tiny kitchen in a typical house from the Khrushchyov era — a fact that is not particularly remarkable even today. But if you still believe it's impossible to maneuver on just five square meters, we're ready to surprise you.
Designer Nadezhda Kapper arranged the kitchen space functionally and stylishly: added pastel tones, hung large mirrors, and let in plenty of light.
We explain how this elegant design was achieved on a micro-space.
Dining Area
A folding table is an indispensable item, especially if relatives and friends often come over. A partially or fully unfolded piece of furniture allows seating for four to six people. The table can easily be folded down for two.
Don't forget about chairs either. Foldable variants are very practical, but often not quite comfortable for daily use. However, chairs with velvet or velour upholstery and brass decor not only complement the kitchen interior but are also very comfortable.

Mirrors
If you hang beveled mirrors on the wall behind the table, the room will visually appear larger. In this case, the shape of the mirrors also echoes the semi-circular form of the furniture.

Lighting
If the kitchen is done in pink tones, lighting in mid-century modern style is best. Ideally, these would be pendant lights with brass elements. Position such lighting at the center of the ceiling or add some to the walls.

Posters and Art
Posters or tapestries with tropical motifs can refresh the kitchen interior. Combine green prints on a free wall.

Boards and Trays
To ensure that kitchen utensils don't stand out from the overall design, they should also be chosen according to specific criteria. For example, a large cutting board can be used as a tray.
