Stylish Studio of 18 m², Perfectly Fitted with Everything Needed for Comfortable Living
Many interesting ideas for small apartments
Some modern small apartments look more like hostel rooms than full living spaces. However, with the right approach, they can also be arranged with everything necessary for comfortable living.
This is the 18 m² studio located in the 'Basmannyy' housing complex, which had to be renovated into a stylish and cozy apartment for future tenants. Let's see what architect Anna Novopol'tseva accomplished.
ReconfigurationThe main goal of the design project was to create a living space for one person – a student or office worker. To achieve this, the studio was divided into zones: a bathroom was placed at the entrance, a kitchen was positioned in the center, and a sleeping area with a pull-out bed was set up by the window on a platform. The kitchen corner was separated from the rest of the room using a metal frame and wooden strips.

FinishingThey chose the most common building materials. Walls were painted with paint, the floor was covered with laminate, a matte suspended ceiling was installed, and budget tile Italon was laid in the bathroom.

DecorationThe interior was executed in gray-blue tones, without contrasting elements. The sleeping platform was custom-made from solid wood and coated with matte lacquer, and above it, a painting depicting the Jurassic period was hung.
Furniture was partially purchased at IKEA, and partially from brands specializing in Scandinavian style. As a result, a minimalist, aesthetic, and unobtrusive decor was achieved that is suitable for busy workdays and full relaxation.
