Unusual solution by the designer

Owners of small apartments often neglect aesthetics in favor of functionality. However, these elements can be organically combined to achieve a vibrant and comfortable living interior.

That's exactly what designer Marina Sarkisyan did when she was asked to decorate a small studio in the Moscow housing complex 'Nevsky'. Let's see how she arranged 25 square meters of living space.

There was no need to overthink the layout, as it perfectly fit into the designer's concept. The kitchen was also left in its original place, and the room zoning was organized using furniture. As a result, the space turned out to be bright, airy, and aesthetically appealing.

Thanks to natural wood, neutral walls, and large windows, it was possible to implement a genuine Scandinavian design with touches of loft eclecticism.

The interior finishing mainly features ceramic granite in wood tones and wall tiles imitating glass blocks. The main accent of the apartment is a fresco — a copy of an artwork by Telemaco Signorini.

For the design, Marina used a portrait of expressionist Max Kurtzweil. The painting is imbued with winter colors, and the small heroine of the canvas became the prototype for a monochromatic interior in natural tones.

The apartment is done in white and gray shades, with rare additions of black. The ceramic granite on the floor reveals the theme of a snow-covered path.

Storage System

It is convenient to store household items in the kitchen in cabinets with double-row facades. Clothes and other belongings are stored in the wardrobe at the entrance.

There is also plenty of storage space around the bed for everyday items. By the way, the shelves here were custom-made, and the rest of the furniture was bought at IKEA.

There is enough space on the wide window sills for various trinkets, and a wooden display case with glass doors can be used to store dishes.
