Together with architect Ruslan Kirnichansky, we tell you which sockets are most often forgotten during renovation. 1. Sockets in the Kitchen Placement of sockets in the kitchen should only be planned after finalizing the layout of the kitchen cabinet. Once you clearly know what household appliances will be used and where they will be located, it becomes easier to plan additional usage. Only then should you calculate the required number and placement of all sockets.Design: Olga Sharlai Design: Olga Sharlai

Which sockets are often forgotten in the plan:

  • for the range hood: it is better to install it near the ventilation channel at a height of 1.7–2 m from the finished floor;
  • for igniting a gas stove: it is better to place it in the socket or 20 cm from the gas stove (monoblock).
2. Sockets in the Foyer Many people don't install any sockets in the foyer zone, but we recommend placing at least one socket here to power the shoe dryer and vacuum cleaner. Also, plan in advance the cleaning scenario so that the necessary equipment is always at hand and you don't have to drag extension cords. For example, the most essential ones are sockets for a vacuum cleaner, iron, and steamer. 3. In the Bathroom Earlier in the bathroom, one socket was enough for a washing machine. Now you should first think about additional appliances: razor, hairdryer, electric toothbrush, etc. If the bathroom will be used by several people, it is better to increase the number of sockets to two or three. Also, don't forget that sockets in a bathroom must be water-resistant.Design: Olga Sharlai Design: Olga Sharlai 4. Sockets Near the Desk Sockets in the office near the workspace should be arranged at two levels: 30 cm and 90 cm from the finished floor. The lower row of sockets is needed for large appliances, and the upper one at table height for charging gadgets.Design: Valeriya Kolyada Design: Valeriya Kolyada 5. On the Window Sills Placement of sockets on window sills in the kitchen with a wide windowsill allows using it as a full work surface. Very convenient are sockets near the window for decorating with Christmas lights. And where else to put gadgets that can be charged and placed next to a book? 6. On the Balcony To use the balcony as a lounge zone, it's worth planning waterproof sockets. You can set up a table lamp or floor lamp, charge gadgets, work with a laptop, or even organize a mini-home cinema.Design: Studio Design 'GraDiz' Design: Studio Design 'GraDiz'
