Italy… And our imagination willingly paints the Mediterranean sky blue, golden fields, lush greenery – all joyful, natural, close to nature. Interior spaces are characterized by elegance, refinement, and sophistication, yet simple yet high-quality furnishings are used, with a strong emphasis on comfort (Italians do not skimp on furniture and interior details), preference for natural materials, elegance, simplicity, stylish expensive accessories, and antiques. No wonder Italy is the fashion leader.
When choosing the restaurant’s design style, both the popularity of ethnic styles and the cuisine specialization were taken into account. The result is a unique, distinctive interior with its own charm, style, and individuality, designed to attract and captivate customers.
Photo 1 — Italian-style restaurant design
Italian style is known for using natural materials. The interior may feature aged brickwork as a base, creating a cozy setting for round wooden tables and low, comfortable semi-soft chairs with light upholstery.
Walls and ceilings are light, typical of Italian interiors. The floor is tiled with large, light-colored matching tiles. Wooden panels in the furniture’s color were used for the ceiling design, visually raising the ceiling and adding height to the space. Lightweight glass chandeliers in rectangular shape, combined with solid wooden beams, create a sense of lightness without weighing down the space.
Photo 2 — Minimalist bar counter
The entrance and bar area are set against light-colored walls. They are mainly in brown, decorated with a 'rustic' brick pattern. The bar counter is minimalist: glossy countertops, carved wooden details at base and top, spot lighting, and high, comfortable bar stools with backrests.
Under the ceiling, appealing menu dish images are illuminated, enhancing the Italian atmosphere. Wine bottles on shelves emphasize the Italian character, a traditional element essential to the country’s identity, and a low, wide brick oven for making exceptional Italian pizza.
Lighting in the restaurant is soft and diffused, creating a warm, relaxing ambiance. In addition to the unique chandeliers, the space is illuminated by numerous side lamps shaped like lanterns.
Large wide windows are decorated with light, elegant pastel-colored curtains, providing the main natural lighting.
The entrance door is designed in a typical Italian style – combining wood and glass or plastic.
Photo 3 — Soft lighting in the restaurant creates a relaxing atmosphere
An experienced designer can suggest creating an outdoor Italian café atmosphere on the waterfront: replace standard chandeliers with wrought-iron ones hanging from chains with bulbs as lanterns, duplicate them for wall sconces, and change the light upholstery of furniture to a darker, more practical fabric with textile ties.
Paintings of natural coffee perfectly complement the restaurant’s atmosphere. Its invigorating aroma, filling the space, will attract guests, immersing them in a warm, cozy environment ideal for joy and conversation.
