What you'll need:
  • Old books with stitched pages (glued pages won't do!),
  • scissors,
  • mandarins if you want thin stars, oranges — if thicker,
  • a metal star-shaped cookie cutter for cutting out stars.
What to do with it?

Remove the covers from the books and cut them into parts.

For one Christmas tree, you'll need about 60 pages from a book. To get trees of various sizes from one book, you can trim some parts by height or width.

Open a part of the book and fold one page in half to form a triangle.

With the inside facing in, as shown in the photo.

Fold it in half again.

Don't forget to press well the folded areas.

Bend the corner that protrudes beyond the lower edge of the book

With the inside facing in and up, as shown in the photo.

Flip the finished page and repeat the same steps with the rest.

The Christmas tree is ready! Now let's move on to making stars from peels.

But first, clean the mandarins or oranges or peel them with a knife.

Dry them.

If you want a garland, before drying, carefully thread the stars onto a string point-to-point.
