How to Create a Cozy Home: 6 Ideas from Projects
Design projects continue to surprise and inspire us. We share great ideas that always work
Nowadays, we spend most of our time at home, so it's important to make the atmosphere as cozy as possible, get rid of unnecessary stress and rest more. We found several interesting ideas in design projects and can't wait to share them with you.
Combining Neutral with Bright
To keep your home cozy all the time, choose warm neutral tones. True, white walls can look too cold and in insufficient sunlight even grayish. Designer Lyudmila Danilovich anticipated this and complemented the interior with soft beige tones that make the setting sunny.
Any interior will be boring without colorful accents. Therefore, the light base was combined with more vibrant colors: blue, pink, and burgundy. In a calm light setting, they don't seem too flashy and don't draw unnecessary attention.

Focus on Textures and Materials
Studio AMD Design professional played on contrasts: familiar painted walls were combined with decorative stucco mimicking iron sheets with "rivets". They also added textured textiles — knitted throws, velvet cushions, and a carpet with fine pile.
They complemented the setting with soft powder tones — they look bright and festive against dark gray shades. Thanks to a combination of textures and warm and cool tones, the interior looks very cozy — you want to wrap yourself in a blanket with a cup of hot tea.

Use Prints
Even if you choose a warm light color palette for the interior and add warm tones, this may not be enough. Designer Ekaterina Burdina came up with a solution: add some prints.
For example, a print on a kitchen apron is not too bright but sets the mood for the entire interior. The same can be said about the bedroom: wallpaper with floral patterns and decorative cushions added warmth and comfort to the setting.

And Moldings
Another simple way to add a touch of uniqueness to an interior. With moldings, you can visually adjust ceiling height or room width. They work well in classical styles but also add coziness to modern interiors.
Designer Alisa Svyistunova used thin elongated frames going upward in her project — they emphasize ceiling height and visually increase it. They also break up the gray-beige color palette of the interior.

Add Textural Materials
If your interior feels too cold, enhance it with natural wood items. Designer Anastasia Vishnevskaya used this principle to the fullest: wooden floors, wooden beams on the ceiling (which were accidentally discovered during renovation), and furniture made from natural wood.
It's not necessary to do a full renovation: you can always replace a plastic table with a wooden one or add decorative elements. You can even make a wooden headboard yourself. It can be found in the photo — Anastasia used old wooden doors for this purpose.

Fill the Interior with Memorabilia
You can follow all tips and endlessly derive the formula for the perfect interior, but everyone creates comfort in their own way. Fill your home setting with memorabilia gifted by loved ones or brought from travels, as designer Olesya Shlyakhtina did.
If you're into painting or sculpture, feel free to decorate the interior with your own works. Designer adorned her apartment with paintings she created herself and works by friends. This always inspires and adds individuality to the interior.
