Small Studio in a Loft

Apartment Size: 30 m²

Besides its compact size, this apartment has another interesting feature—it is located in a loft, so the spatial geometry is complex.

The situation was fixed using plain white paint for the ceilings and walls, as well as thoughtful spatial zoning. The decision was made to go with a minimalist Scandinavian style to avoid cluttering the space and leave as much air as possible.

Two-Level Studio with Black Kitchen

Apartment Size: 37

Designers came up with a way to make this small apartment functional—by using the height of the space. They added a second level in the studio and placed a full bedroom area there.

The lower part was left for a spacious kitchen-living room. The space was not divided with partitions, but instead zoned using color. The black kitchen contrasts beautifully with the light living room.

Another Small Apartment in a Loft

Apartment Size: 35

The apartment originally was a small dark room with sharp height differences in the ceiling. So, the designer decided to let more light into the space: several windows were installed and the walls were painted white.

Thoughtful spatial arrangement was helped by built-in furniture—its dimensions were carefully matched to the room size. The slanted ceiling even added coziness to the bedroom area.

Compact Two-Room Apartment with a Roof Terrace

Apartment Size: 36

Visually, this two-room apartment doesn’t seem that small—the secret lies in carefully chosen compact furniture that doesn’t clutter the space.

Several decorator tricks were also used to visually expand the area: one of the walls was draped with fabric (it looks like the room continues behind it), the space was zoned using light and decor, and the bedroom was visually separated from the common area with dark finishes.

Dark Apartment with a Bedroom in an Alcove

Apartment Size: 39

Despite the common misconception that Scandinavian interiors are always light, Swedish designers love using blue color. And even in small apartments.

Contrasts were also included: the kitchen was left white, and the hallway was painted pink. The result is interesting and not boring—each room now has its own mood.

Two-Room Apartment with a Micro-Kitchen and Comfortable Bedroom

Apartment Size: 39

In Swedish interiors, kitchens and living rooms are often intentionally combined—this saves space and visually expands the room. At the same time, it adds a special coziness to the interior—cooking and chatting with guests can happen simultaneously.

The bedroom is decorated as simply as possible—gray walls and minimal details. This setting creates a perfect atmosphere for rest, so take this idea to heart.
