10 More Spring Trends for a Good Mood

What has changed in interior design trends since the beginning of the year? First of all, design has become more economical: kitchens no longer require separate spaces, and secondary materials are increasingly used in finishing

Hidden Kitchens

Kitchen cabinets in niches, in wall color, integrate into space as seamlessly as possible. Kitchens are now more often fulfilling a purely utilitarian function rather than a decorative one. They are increasingly hidden in wardrobes, placed behind facades in corridors and no longer occupy entire rooms.

Cabinets Without Upper Shelves

Considering the pace of life in today's world, people cook at home less and buy products in small quantities. By doing away with upper cabinets (and indeed, large kitchens in homes), we visually create a much more spacious environment. I personally prefer to have the kitchen look like a living room. Instead of upper cabinets, I place an attractive sideboard with glass doors and display all the beauty on show.

Reflective Surfaces

Metallic cabinet fronts, glass surfaces of interior partitions and dining table countertops, sideboards and coffee tables reflect light, which is often in short supply.

Gradient (Ombre)

Ombre in interior design is a new trend based on the transition of color from dark tones to light or from one shade to another. This technique can also be called 'degradation' or 'gradient', and it can be used in various design details of interior spaces.

Ombre is most noticeable on walls. In this case, you can use this effect in any room, as long as you choose the right tone. However, implementing such an idea requires a skilled approach, since it demands maximum expertise from the artist. The artist must know how to create a color transition using spray or small strokes, which is very difficult, especially on large surfaces. On small wall sections, you can create a gradient yourself.

When applying the ombre effect on interior walls, it's important to remember that in rooms with low or standard ceilings, the darkest shades should be at the bottom. This visually increases the height of the space. Owners of spacious rooms where ceiling heights exceed 3.5 meters can express their creativity and experiment with gradients in any direction.

Ombre can also be used in textiles: window treatments, bedding, decorative pillows.

Boucle

Although this fabric has existed for a long time, it is currently at the center of attention. Boucle, whether made from yarn or fabric, consists of three separate twisted threads with a looped texture. The fabric, usually used in women's suits, is made using unique color solutions and includes metallic and cashmere threads, making it even better when applied to furniture.

1970s

Retro style has been highly relevant for several years now, and it doesn't mean that you have to buy authentic vintage or antiques. Though I personally love items with history. Furniture brands acquire patents for manufacturing certain items, thoroughly study the heritage of the past, and skillfully use modern materials to create new designs.

Back to White

White spaces remain timeless, versatile, and each person can fill such a space with their own mood through art or decoration. By changing these items, we change the mood of the room.

It’s like a clean sheet of paper: in such minimalist spaces, it's easier to be creative and think in general.

More minimalistic on the East, more cozy and “homey” Scandinavian interiors are the best examples of this.

Handmade

Any items made by hand are unique, non-reproducible objects that attract attention and bring a certain warmth to the room. This can be a lamp, an art object, a vase, a stool, anything made by hand for a specific interior or for the soul. A wall hanging, a knitted blanket, a decorative pillow on the sofa or a flower pot… the main thing is inspiration and desire.

Macramé

The use of fabrics for wall decoration is on the rise. Wall hangings, macramé, wall rugs — all of these are becoming relevant again. These can be handmade items, family heirlooms, or objects purchased at interior exhibitions. Such decoration can suit any interior when chosen and used appropriately. Whether machine-made or handcrafted, it undoubtedly attracts attention.
