Apartment for Minimalist: 2-Room 44 m² Apartment in Sweden
Interiors from the Swedish design studio Grey Deco look like a paradise for perfectionists: continuous visual pleasure. Their projects are decorated using simple geometric forms, contrasts and natural tones. Walls are decorated with paintings featuring abstract drawings, while shelves and tables are adorned with minimalist figurines made of clay or porcelain. The look is both minimalistic and expensive in a good way.

In this 44 square meter apartment in Gothenburg, Grey Deco's signature techniques proved to be just right. The decorators added even more geometry to a space with problematic layout, numerous niches, protrusions and ceiling beams. It now seems as if the apartment's shortcomings were part of the project and always intended to be that way.

Custom built-in wardrobes, kitchen units and an island with countertops made of limestone were provided by the developer. The countertops visually 'get along' with concrete floors (they are not cold but heated). This restrained yet expressive combination sets the starting point for other interior design decisions.

Decorators maintained the palette and included sand and beige tones, linen and cotton fabrics, lofts lights and a leather chair. Unusual cubes in the living room are coffee tables. Nearby, decorators placed sideboards of similar shape and stools behind the bar — all strictly geometric.

To avoid the effect of static decor due to an abundance of sharp angles, light curtains on windows and a soft sofa help. To complete the interior design, paintings are used. Decorators hung works in the style of Malevich or Kandinsky, hinting at similarities between the decor and cubist and other abstract artists' work, but not on canvases, but in real life.
