How a Designer Decorated the Veranda and Garden: You'll Definitely Want to Replicate It

Today we'll visit designer Natasha Sorokina's dacha in the suburbs and find out what her designer garden looks like. Take these ideas for your own home!
The dacha veranda is the main place where the whole family spends time during warm weather. Cold can force everyone to stay indoors. That's why Natasha carefully planned the size of the veranda to accommodate every family member. There are spaces for relaxing on a soft sofa, for creativity, and for children's games. In summer, the kids even splash around in baby pools — and everyone is happy. Photo: in style, Tips, Dacha – photo on our websitePhoto: in style, Tips, Dacha – photo on our website

Pay attention to the furniture that the designer used on the veranda. Bright accents were the red vintage table and sideboard. In fact, these are IKEA furniture pieces that Natasha painted and aged by hand. The sideboard has beautiful ceramic handles, and the table is decorated with rivets.

In the right part of the veranda, there is a dining area where Natasha and her husband also got creative. Actually, instead of a dining table, we have a regular interior door. Her husband used it as a support during renovation. But it turned out so convenient that Natasha gave it a second life. The door was bordered with planks, filled with irregular tiles, and sealed. It became a full-fledged dining table that is so heavy it stays outdoors all year round. It has already survived three seasons and feels great!

There's another special touch from Natasha — a planter made from an old family barrel for fermenting cabbage.

For her children, Natasha designed a sandbox on the dacha grounds. It's shaped like a ship, and the sail is made from parachute fabric to protect little ones from harsh summer sunshine.

The most interesting thing is Natasha's designer garden. All her garden beds are shaped like a maze. The beds are elevated above ground level, which is very convenient for weeding. No need to bend over; just sit on the edge and harvest the crop.

There's a great variety of plants in Natasha’s garden. Here you can find wild mint, oregano, basil, strawberries and even aromatic strawberries. This is just a small part of what she was able to tell us.
