With the increase in kitchen area and the trend of combining the kitchen and living room into a common studio space, the kitchen island has become as relevant as never before. It is both additional workspace and storage system. Designers recommend not stopping at one island if the area allows, but placing two islands at once. In addition to working lighting necessary for cooking, designers pay special attention to cabinet and door illumination. Decorativeness is what people expect from lighting today. Everything on a modern kitchen should be convenient in use. Therefore, all cabinets with shelves and hinged doors are replaced with pull-out drawers. Instead of a full workspace, you can use a pull-out countertop. In case of need, it can replace both the kitchen island and dining table. The history of kitchen development includes many trends and various solutions, successful and not so successful. Some solutions have stood the test of time, others became popular recently but are already called promising and long-term. Here's what today's modern kitchen couldn't do without: Minimalism. Minimalist design and minimalism in details are currently at the top of fashion. Designers recommend completely abandoning handles on kitchen cabinet facades in favor of a push-to-open system. Smooth flat facades without protruding elements visually expand the space, look attractive, and are also convenient in use.
