It seems that smaller homes require less maintenance than larger ones: in both cases, you need to repair the roof, paint the facade, and mow the lawn. However, a micro-home is much more practical than a micro-apartment. Let's see why

A home in the village of Saltaro near Stockholm is as small as can be: it has only 33 square meters. Indeed, this is not critical at all: the residents of this house were lucky with a picturesque view from the windows, an lake just five minutes away by foot, and, what is important, with a rational layout. Everything was planned to make the small space comfortable for living.

For example, they didn’t forget that an open space looks more spacious and cohesive, so they opted out of interior partitions, locally replacing them with dense curtains where needed. They took into account that it’s better to save space in the bedroom, and thus arranged two convenient niches with shelves, local lighting, and pull-out drawers for storage. Finally, they grouped the kitchen, living room, and dining area into a spacious common zone. The bedrooms are separated from it by a fireplace.

Interior stylists from the Stockholm real estate company Bjurfors Näringsliv are responsible for the decor, details, and cozy atmosphere. The selected bedroom furniture from IKEA, armchairs with a checked pattern, and ultra-modern leather handles suit the wooden finish well, while monochromatic textiles and blue accents balance the setting and prevent it from leaning towards country style.

The interior of this compact home is meticulously planned to save every centimeter, but making it truly spacious is impossible no matter how much one might want. However, the modest size of the house is fully compensated by its exterior: just look at this stylish wide terrace with benches and complex steps! There’s enough space here to arrange outdoor furniture, add decor, and invite friends. Everything fits.
