Scandinavian style has been particularly popular for several years now and shows no sign of losing its position. Let's find out what makes it so appealing to us.

More and more people are becoming fans of Scandinavian interiors, and there are plenty of reasons for that. We've gathered several of the strongest ones.

1. They Don't Require Big Investments

Choosing Scandinavian aesthetics frees you from a lot of worries and unnecessary expenses. You don't need to buy ornate furniture that's hard to combine with other items, wooden surfaces can remain unfinished, and grandma's sideboard doesn't have to be replaced with a new one – it can fit perfectly into the interior and become its highlight.

2. Scandinavian Interiors Are Practical for Living

In such an interior, everything is extremely functional yet there's nothing unnecessary. A stool can serve as a nightstand, and a shoe rack – as storage for small items. Additionally, the Scandinavian style allows you to seamlessly blend traditions and modern technologies – you don't have to sacrifice comfort for beauty.

3. They Are Perfect for Dark Apartments

We are close to and understand the northern climate, so we also want to bring as much sunlight as possible into our apartments. A lot of white color, various lighting fixtures, and uncluttered spaces – all of this makes the room appear much brighter and larger. In many Swedish apartments, there are no curtains at all, which visually makes them even more spacious. In our conditions, it takes courage to make this choice, but why not?

4. They Allow Color Experimentation

Here, when it comes to color, the main rule is – no rules (or almost none). This is also what attracts us in Scandinavian aesthetics. Want a subdued monochrome look? Sure, bright accents – nothing can stop your imagination.

5. This Style Is a Synonym for Good Taste

A couple of decades ago, tired of Soviet "walls" and colorful carpets, we fell in love with IKEA for its clean lines and simple forms. It was precisely this brand that showed us that the most unadorned items can be beautiful, and minimalist interiors can be winning.

6. Such Interiors Are Always Cozy

Fireplaces, candles, live plants, warm throws, and original little touches – in such a home it's always pleasant to come back to, and interesting details make it memorable and un boring. Each item reflects a thoughtful Scandinavian approach to life and sets the tone for harmony with oneself.

7. Preference Is Given to Natural Materials

Scandinavians strive to live sustainably and use natural materials as much as possible: cotton, linen, wool, solid wood. This makes the interior not only visually pleasant but also tactilely comforting.
