Hesar Villa by Afshin Hosseini and Associates
Located in the mountainous beauty of Mashhad, Hesar Villa harmoniously blends design and nature. Thanks to its unique location and temperature variations, the villa includes a central courtyard that offers a cozy retreat.
The diagonal cut, oriented toward favorable winds, divides the structure into living and recreational zones connected by a bridge. Balconies and gardens provide diverse spaces.
Aromatic breezes from abundant plants and a cooling pool enhance the tranquility of the central courtyard. The villa, adorned with silver Esfahan stone, preserves green zones and reflects tree trunks, creating a connection to nature.
Hesar Villa embodies the harmonious blend of design and nature in a mountain paradise.

Hesar Villa is located in one of the best mountainous regions of Mashhad; one feature of the site is its length from the summit to the riverside with a height difference of over 20 meters, providing a temperature variation of about 4°C. The design took into account the experience of transferring the central courtyard to a mountainous area, creating an internal space and ensuring necessary privacy.
An analysis of climatic and visual factors created a diagonal cut in the direction of favorable southeast winds, separating living and recreational zones. The linear bridge creates a good visual connection with the dominant view of the project on one side and the central courtyard on the other. Various types of balconies and covered gardens have different styles, notes, and degrees of enclosure in this building.
The prevailing regional wind direction comes from the valley upwards, and the specified cut ensures aromatic air from fragrant plants in this courtyard and plays a key role in creating a tranquil zone. An automatic entrance system to the central courtyard makes it even more private. This courtyard creates visual and physical connections between interior and exterior spaces.
The external pool of the project is located at the center of internal and external spaces with dual characteristics, on the path of local wind which plays a significant role in lowering the temperature of the central courtyard. Preserving maximum green zones and trees was an important factor for the design team during project planning, and selected facade materials (silver Esfahan stone) with vertical lines make the project compatible with nature due to similarity in trunk structure despite large scale.
