Modular Buildings by URBANJOBS — 14,000 sqm Co-Working and Community Hub in Istanbul
URBANJOBS designed the interiors of Modular Buildings, an office complex spanning 14,000 sqm in Istanbul that redefines the concept of shared workspaces. Created as a construction community, this project combines high-tech co-working spaces with social, cultural and wellness facilities, delivering one of the largest shared office complexes in the city.
Construction Community in Istanbul
The Modular Buildings were not simply designed as an office — they are a multi-level ecosystem. The layout includes:
Shared offices and private cabins
Conference halls and multi-purpose event spaces
Vertical gardens spanning four floors
Pilates and wellness studios
Restaurants, bars and relaxation rooms
Concierge and cargo services
Galleries and agrarian garden areas
Podcast studios for simultaneous broadcasting
With nearly 20 different facilities, the project functions as a hotel without accommodation, creating a space where thousands of users can work, meet, exercise, socialize and create under one roof.
Multi-functional and Flexible Spaces
One of the most innovative aspects of the design is its adaptability. Spaces can be combined or reconfigured to serve multiple functions:
Conferences can take place while others participate in pilates sessions.
Vertical gardens and integrated meeting rooms support both informal and formal gatherings.
Recreational zones also function as networking hubs.
This flexibility reflects URBANJOBS' ambition to create a future workspace that evolves with user needs.

Light, Energy and Efficiency
URBANJOBS strategically positioned work zones along the window perimeter, ensuring maximum natural light and reducing energy consumption. Storage, kitchens, cargo centers and wet zones (bathrooms and showers) were placed in the center, freeing up facades for human-oriented spaces.
In the building's core, gallery atriums rise four floors (each around 150 sqm). These voids not only allow light to penetrate deep into the structure but also act as social centers.
Iconic Interior Features
Two notable interior interventions shape the spatial experience:
A multi-level connector that links two floors and encourages communication between levels through gentle height changes.
A giant vase-like installation visible from all four levels, designed as an oasis that visually and spatially strengthens the building. At its base lies a recreational area, creating a calm focal point for the community.
These iconic elements elevate the project above typical offices, making Modular Buildings a famous example of workspace design in Istanbul.
