So, decorating a child's bedroom. Let's start, perhaps, with a brief look at bed options.

Accessories for Children's Rooms: Creating a Cozy Atmosphere
Accessories for children's rooms, whether it’s textiles, cushions, handmade crafts, an aquarium or scattered toys — these are what mainly fill the room, making it lived-in, comfortable and familiar to a child.
When developing the design of a children's room, pay enough attention to adding themed accessories to complement the interior.

Themed Children's Rooms
Themed children's rooms look interesting and entertaining.
For the past few years, one of the most popular themes, on par with almost classic children's room interiors — fairy tale castles and toy cars in girls'/boys' rooms — has been the nautical theme. Especially since gender-specific elements are not so pronounced in it, making it suitable for both boys and girls.
In such interiors, everything from the largest furniture to small details should be chosen stylistically correctly: bed, dressers, side tables, wardrobes, floor and ceiling finishes, computer desks, curtains and even cornices. Atmosphere is also largely created by details:
- paintings, if any, should be nautical-themed, and even better if they hang in old wooden frames with an old lifebuoy, several sailor knots and other maritime accessories;
- a clock and mirror in the room can be decorated with a narrow rope wrapping around these decorative items, and cozy atmosphere can be added by a checkered blanket with medium-length hair, draped over the child's chair;
- old bottles (which can be filled with sand or shells) placed on shelves (glass surfaces can also be decorated — decoupage or acrylic or stained glass paint works perfectly for this), one of the bottles can also serve as a "house" for dried fish, model ship or several letters on parchment;
- floor or wall-themed frescoes, cross-stitch or backstitch embroidery, treasure map posters (these can be made as wall appliques — torn parts of the map glued to the wall with small gaps to show paper tearing clearly), wall hangings.
In a child's room, “from top to bottom,” filled with various decorative and functional items, attention to cleanliness should be paid more carefully. To some extent, dust accumulation can be reduced by air purifiers for children's rooms, various sprays and, simply put, frequent and short ventilation.

Photo 15 — It's important to maintain the theme atmosphere throughout, using appropriate finishing materials, fabrics and decorative items

Photo 16 — The nautical theme can also be used for decorating school-age children's rooms. With one correction — less sharp and small items

Photo 17 — When using the nautical theme in interiors for preschoolers, it's better to replace an abundance of decorative items with just two or three themed accents and pay more attention to textiles

Photo 18 — A wall hanging for a children's room can become the central decorative element or just an equally important but less significant part of the interior

Photo 19 — As you can see, a nautical-style children's room can be organized even in small spaces
