Glass House in California
A house located on a remote plot with a breathtaking view of the coastline represents architecture of maximum functionality with minimal impact on the environment. This residence from Deegan Day Design studio, covering 195 square meters, is situated in Northern California. The design concept not only recalls Philip Johnson's Glass House and Farnsworth House but also inherits characteristic features of buildings in this region. The modern construction aims for maximum interaction with the surrounding landscape. Transparency and simplicity of the house's volume evoke works by artists: Larry Bell's cubes and Damien Hirst's aquariums. Thus, the C-Glass House project becomes a reflection of the authors' ambitions and the evolution of architecture in an American context.
