House in Nature in USA
This 418 square meter residence is located in the USA, Wyoming state, near a mountain range view. Simple and modest forms of the building blend with the surrounding landscape. The construction belongs to a family of four from New York who wanted a modern, yet non-urban house in nature. Architects from Carney Logan Burke developed an open interior while preserving an intimate atmosphere.
The functional space is divided into two zones that maximize family interaction and personal privacy, as well as aid air circulation. A glass passage connects the two wings of the building that encompass the southern side of the courtyard. While the west-facing terrace offers a panoramic view of the mountains and pond. Simple yet refined materials are used in interior decoration. The palette includes wood, steel, stone and glass. Tiger oak flooring is present in the bathroom, white oak is used for the grand staircase, and the facade is clad with cedar siding.
