A decorated green fir tree is the main symbol of New Year's holidays. The scent of fir and mandarins, soft light of garlands — all this is associated with the holiday from childhood. But if for some reason you don't want or can't bring a green beauty into your home and decorate it, don't despair. You can decorate your home with various compositions made of fir branches. This creates a festive atmosphere just as good as the traditional Christmas tree. But these tips can also be useful for those who plan to put a fir tree in their home. Various elements of decoration from fir branches complement the interior and continue the Christmas tree composition.
So, what do we need to decorate our home? First of all, fir or pine branches, both large and small. Also, anything you want to use for decoration: toys, garlands, ribbons, beads, crafts. Carefully examine the rooms and think about what style of decoration would suit them better. Perhaps it would be better to decorate them using many branches and knitted toys or paper crafts. But the case when it's better to use only a few coniferous ornaments with minimal decorations is also possible. Don't hesitate to use unconventional materials for decoration: old compact discs, socks, wire. In skilled hands, they can turn into beautiful home decorations.
Large Compositions from Branches

To create a large composition from coniferous branches, you will need several large branches. There are many ways to style such compositions. For example, you can simply tie the branches together and decorate them with New Year's toys by hanging them on the wall. Or you can take a large woven basket, fill it with branches and decorate it with New Year's balls, candies, oranges. You can even place a toy snowman or Santa Claus inside such a New Year's basket. Large compositions made from branches can also be placed on windowsills, tables, sideboards, decorated with raindrops, ribbons and balls. Another interesting option for New Year's decoration might be trees made from coniferous branches. They are not difficult to make: a flat branch is tied to a piece of floral foam, into which fir branches are then inserted. The free end of the branch is secured in a pot with soil. A fir tree looks very original and can also be decorated with beads and balls.

Coniferous Garlands
Another way to decorate a room for the holiday can be coniferous garlands that you can hang on windows and doors, decorate staircases or fireplace. Making them yourself is not difficult: just attach fir branches to a rope or wire base and decorate them with balls, ribbons or raindrops. Just be attentive and don't overdo it with decorations. Unlike decorating a Christmas tree or large compositions, a Christmas garland shouldn't contain many decorative elements, otherwise it will look awkward. In this case, the main accent should be the fir.

Small Decorations from Fir

These include already beloved by many fir wreaths, various branch ornaments and coniferous bunches that came to us from America. The ornaments can be placed above tables, on windows or attached to chandeliers. New Year's coniferous wreaths are easy to make by hand from natural fir branches. They can be decorated in harmony with the main interior decoration or in the same style as the Christmas tree. They will look great not only on walls or doors, but also small wreaths can be used to decorate chairs or shelves in an apartment. In any case, the decorations you make will delight you with the scent of fir and wonderful decor, giving a feeling of celebration.
