Wardrobe Bed
Among the listed types of beds with folding mechanisms, the wardrobe bed is the most popular at Wallbed. This transformer offers several advantages:
- It suits any type of room combining multiple zones, most fittingly in a bedroom-living room or bedroom-office.
- A wardrobe bed is space-efficient, as it is positioned along the wall.
- Thanks to strong lifting mechanisms for fold-down beds, it is possible to create sleeping spaces of any size and orientation.
- It does not require bedding to be folded away every time it is transformed.
- As with a traditional wardrobe, storage shelves can hide items behind the bed area.
Tip: You don’t have to buy a wardrobe bed; you can build one yourself. DIY WallBedKit sets are available, containing all the necessary mechanisms, fittings, and supports to assemble such a bed.

Dresser Bed
A dresser bed transformer is essentially a horizontally oriented wardrobe bed. Considering the height of the dresser, such transformers can hide a single or double bed. The upper part of the structure often contains regular storage drawers for items. Decorative items and ornaments can be placed on top of the furniture. This type of bed is recommended for teenagers and children.

Desk Bed
Combining a large desk with additional features and a full-size single bed with mattress is one of the most efficient furniture solutions for small children or teenager's rooms. During use, the mattress is positioned vertically behind the desk surface and does not attract attention.

Sofa Bed
After reading the name, many might think of sofa beds discussed earlier. But that is not the case. A sofa bed is more similar in construction to a wardrobe bed and compensates for one of its main drawbacks – the lack of seating in the folded state. This transformer is a compact sofa with an unobtrusive panel behind it, used for storing the bed frame and mattress. When unfolded, one side of the bed lies on the sofa, while the other rests on extendable legs. This option is ideal for studios, lofts, and one-room apartments.

The variety of multifunctional beds does not end here. For example, a separate class can be made for infant transformers. While these beds have many advantages, there are also some drawbacks. Due to their limited popularity, the range of transformers is relatively narrow compared to other types of furniture. Rare items are expensive, but there’s an affordable alternative: making the desired bed yourself, using available materials, instructions, reviews, and feedback.
