If you have children in your family, or at least one child, the younger generation can just as easily be included in decorating the apartment for the holiday. And it will lift everyone's mood much more than hanging standard store-bought balls.

So, roll up your sleeves and let's get started on creating the celebration.

Snowflakes and the green beauty – New Year without them is nowhere

First of all, we need snowflakes. Recall your childhood and cutting out intricate snowflakes from a sheet of paper. There you can let your imagination run wild. Snowflakes can be cut not only from white paper, but also from colored paper. And even white paper, if desired, can always be painted. You can draw winter patterns on windows with your child. For paint, you can use the mundane toothpaste that can be found in every home.

Christmas tree. Decorating a Christmas tree is an entire ritual. Instead of familiar and already tedious Christmas balls, you can use anything that your ingenuity and resourcefulness suggest. For example, decorate the green beauty with candies, gingerbread (by the way, homemade cookies made together with the kids for a New Year theme are also a great decoration). Also, make small baskets out of paper. Put cute trinkets with witty and positive messages in them. For example – "lucky button," or "sweet life" candy, mint candy "refresh your days," "pencil for recording genius thoughts," coin "talisman bringing wealth," eraser "erase all the bad" and so on. After New Year, each family member will randomly pick a souvenir.

Involve children in decorating the house – create a fairy tale together

You can also decorate the festive tree with children's toys. Of course, a two-meter plush bear and a small boxing pear shouldn't be hung on the tree... But small animals, cars, and other child joys make the Christmas tree more cozy and homey. Ask your child to draw New Year pictures, then hang them throughout the apartment.
Don't forget to put a festive figure of Father Frost, ideally – together with his granddaughter Snow White. When the children fall asleep, fill the Father Frost's bag with candies – such a simple surprise will surely delight the children in the morning.

If your child has a rocking horse – place it next to Father Frost, since symbols of the upcoming year shouldn't be forgotten.
So, we've painted all the windows, cut out snowflakes, decorated the tree with mandarins and toys, and the walls with children's pictures. For a better atmosphere, hang LED garlands and a rain.

Even if your Christmas tree is artificial – definitely buy several live branches. Also, place baskets with oranges and mandarins around the house – the scent of citrus and fir always creates a festive and cheerful atmosphere.
