How Beautifully Designed a Light Kitchen of 9 m² in a Stalin-era Apartment
Solutions that are easy to replicate in your own interior
The design of this kitchen in a Stalin-era apartment has been thought out to the smallest detail. The main task for designer Yelena Zufarova was to create a modern space that combines art and personal memories, making the interior feel lived-in, comfortable, and cozy.

The walls of the apartment were meant to serve as a good backdrop for paintings and graphics, as well as antique furniture. Therefore, a cool color palette was chosen that does not distract from the art.

Patterned tiles were used on the floor, evoking classical design traditions and adding a touch of bygone times to the space. The window opening was beautifully framed with molding, giving it a finished look and emphasizing the historical character of the apartment.

The kitchen was custom-made in a minimalist style, as the clients wanted to avoid cluttering the space. All dishes, food items, and kitchenware are neatly hidden in cabinets. The refrigerator was built-in, preserving a unified style and visual integrity of the room.

Custom open shelves were made for beautiful dishes, adding individuality and style. These shelves serve not only as a functional element but also as decoration, highlighting the uniqueness of the homeowners and their taste.

This kitchen is an example of how to create a stylish and functional space. It skillfully combines minimalism, individuality, and classical elements, making the interior truly unique. Undoubtedly, it will become a favorite spot for family gatherings and friends.
