Bold and vibrant solutions in a non-standard 1-room apartment of 43 m²
Thoughtful layout, budget solutions and plenty of storage
The interior of this apartment was designed by designer Ekaterina Bezyazychnaya with an emphasis on long-term rental. The main task was to create a bright and memorable space that stands out against the competitive market. The apartment is equipped with the maximum number of sleeping places, includes a functional workspace and plenty of storage space.
Location: Pushkin
Area: 43.48 m²
ceiling height: 3.5 m — 5 m
Number of rooms: 1
Bathroom: 1
Budget: 1.6 million rubles
Design: Ekaterina Bezyazychnaya
Designer Ekaterina Bezyazychnaya About the LayoutThe layout proposed by the developer did not meet the project goals, as it included only one room, hallway and bathroom. The designer managed to find an optimal solution for re-planning that allowed creating a more functional space. As a result, the apartment was transformed into a stylish kitchen-living room, separate bedroom with a wardrobe, convenient hallway and combined bathroom.

About the Kitchen-Living RoomThe walls in the room are decorated with wallpaper for painting. High ceilings give the space a sense of airiness, but in small rooms, this can create a 'well' effect. To avoid this, the designer suggested coloring the ceiling slope and adding a bright trim along the perimeter to create a more harmonious perception and visually expand the space.

The kitchen cabinet is designed in a linear format with standard modules. The upper cabinets are compact but provide enough storage space. The kitchen has all necessary appliances: a convection oven, dishwasher, 2-burner stove and extractor. The refrigerator and tea-coffee station with a microwave are located in a niche, making them less noticeable and not overloading the space.

An interesting accent in the interior was a decorative panel made of circles placed above the sofa. With the help of an advertisement on Avito, the owner found a person who was selling round plywood scraps. Using leftover paint, she created patterns where all the colors of the apartment harmoniously blend together. This creative project was implemented by her independently based on the designer's instructions.

About the BedroomIn the bedroom, colors were added to make it more vibrant, and as a result, colorful wallpapers with a pleasant texture were chosen, which add several soft tones to the interior. In the niche near the window, shelves were provided for additional storage. Instead of a traditional door to the wardrobe, a textile curtain was hung, which adds lightness and comfort. The bedroom also provided space for a working area that combines comfort and functionality.

About the HallwayThe hallway is quite compact, so only the most necessary items are provided here. In one of the niches, a wardrobe was organized with standard shelves and guides. Instead of doors, curtains are used, which make the space more economical and cozy, as well as visually expand it. For convenience and comfort, a suspended console, mirror and soft pouf were added.

About the BathroomThere was a need to hide the inspection access point for the water floor heating system, which was done using a grid with magnets that provide easy access when needed. There was a niche in the ceiling 5.5 meters high — it was decided not to 'seal' it but hang a clothes dryer that can be lowered. The walls are decorated with a combination of tiles and paint, and the ceiling is painted in the color of the walls, visually uniting and expanding the space.
