How to Creatively and Vibrantly Arrange a Small Kitchen-Living Room: 5 Unusual Ideas
Beautiful finishing, stylish design, and thoughtful functionality in a small space
Designers Alexei and Polina Koptev from Koptev Architect decorated this small 38 sq. m Euro-suite. The main request from the clients was that the interior should be bright, memorable, and stand out from others. We show interesting ideas for arranging a kitchen-living room that will definitely leave you impressed.
Beautiful Color PaletteThe key feature of the space is warm orange walls. This shade evokes only positive associations: fruits, hot south, autumn leaves, spices. It also energizes with optimism, brings joy, and refreshes the interior.
Colored Window OpeningsA beautiful and simple solution is to paint the window sills in the color of the walls. This makes the space feel like one unified whole, visually larger and more spacious.
Mirrored PanelA full-height mirrored panel was glued between the load-bearing column and the wall with windows. It creates a visual illusion — it's not immediately clear that there is no additional room behind it. Additionally, the mirror reflects the window, creating a three-dimensional effect and bringing more light into the kitchen-living room.
Kitchen in a nicheA standard modular kitchen cabinet was fitted into the niche formed by the wall and column. The result is functional, stylish, and neat. Calm gray nobly complements orange, while the latter makes the gray lively and dynamic.
Unusual TV SolutionThe backsplash was extended beyond the front of the kitchen. The black television is now in a terracotta-framed shelf, integrated into the continuation of the backsplash. The shelves serve for additional storage and do not distract from the living room, maintaining visual order.
