Modern classic for a young mother and her son

This apartment in a panel building was decorated by designer Elena Bодрова for the client and her school-age son. The main wishes were an American classic style, a large kitchen, and plenty of storage space.

We tell you how everything was implemented.

Due to internal load-bearing partitions, it was impossible to reconfigure this flat. The bathrooms had already been combined by previous owners, so the bathtub was replaced with a shower and a wall-mounted toilet was installed.

The kitchen area is approximately 10 sq. m, but the owner wanted it to be as functional as possible. Now there is a modern oven and microwave, an additional freezer, dishwasher, and range hood.

The apartment predominantly features neutral tones — gray, white and blue-green.

Natural materials were chosen for the finishing: solid wood flooring in 'deck' and 'fir' styles, and walls are covered with wallpaper made of paper or flocked material.

The kitchen backsplash is tiled in a fish-scale pattern — a combination of blue and gold elements decorates the space.Photo: in style , Tips – photos on our websitePhoto: in style , Tips – photos on our websitePhoto: in style , Tips – photos on our websitePhoto: in style , Tips – photos on our websitePhoto: in style , Tips – photos on our websitePhoto: in style , Tips – photos on our websiteStorage

All beds are equipped with lifting or sliding mechanisms and additional storage spaces.

Closets made by domestic manufacturers were custom-made. Wardrobes for clothes stand in the corridor and living room, while storage units with shelves for school supplies and toys are located in the bedroom and children's room.

Household blocks were designed for the bathroom and two balconies.

The bedroom was decorated in a spring style — with bright textiles and cushions. To add some stylish accents to the interior, figurines with vases were arranged and paintings were hung.
