Built an Amazing House in 70 Days and Even Saved Money
We tell how our heroes managed to make their dream come true
After five years of renting a studio apartment on the outskirts of St. Petersburg, couple Anton and Tatiana 'matured' for their own house. And now they have it — not far from Lake Ladoga and right next to the Northern Capital. We tell how this couple managed to make their dream come true.
LOCATION: Leningrad OblastHOUSE TYPE: woodenSQUARE FEET: 104 sq. mFLOORS: 1ROOMS: 3CEILING HEIGHT: 3 mLayoutThe future house project in Scandinavian style was designed by Anton in software. Instead of the planned 100 days, construction took a record-breaking 70. The couple detailed each stage of the work in their YouTube channel Scandihouse for life.

UtilitiesWater comes into the house from a well, and electricity — from the power pole line. The cottage has underfloor heating and a 6 kW fireplace-wood stove, which allows year-round living here without fear of freezing.

Interior FinishingWalls and ceiling are insulated with wool and weatherproof board "Beltermo". Floors are insulated with extruded polystyrene. The interior is clad in wood-style boarding, and the floor is covered with 33rd class grey laminated flooring.

Color Scheme and FurnitureCouple did not overdo with bright colors, choosing a minimalist style instead, with light tones and clean furniture. Some items were bought in building markets, others were built by themselves.

The only contrasting element in the house is a turquoise corner sofa in the living room.
Favorite PlacesThe kitchen-living room is Anton and Tatiana's favorite place, as panoramic windows let in plenty of natural light.
On nice weather days, the couple prefers spending time on the spacious terrace with rocking chairs to enjoy fresh air.
