Simple and Budget-Friendly Solution for a Hallway in a Stalin-era Apartment (Detailed Estimate)
Clean 4.4 m² hallway
We got the walls with old, flaking wallpaper that crumbled at even a light punch. The supporting elements were only the columns running through the central wall of the apartment, from the living room and bathroom side. The floors were old parquet planks, some of which had rotted, and there was a height difference of about six centimeters. We completely removed the floor down to the wooden joists, cleaned all the debris, and covered it again.

Finish: the hallway walls are painted in a pistachio tone, and the floor is made of contrast black-and-white Kerama Marazzi tiles.
Storage: for outerwear, a rail is currently used, but it will be replaced with a mirror cabinet with swing doors up to the ceiling. For shoes in the hallway, a narrow IKEA shoe rack for eight pairs is used.
Lighting: central — a vintage Soviet crystal chandelier.
Useful: in the hallway, we installed passage switches — turn on the lights when entering the apartment, and turn them off when entering other rooms. This way we don't have to walk back and forth to switch off the lights behind us.
Budget:- Tiles with installation — 10,000 rubles.
- Entry door Torex — 30,000 rubles.
- Vintage chandelier — 2,000 rubles.
- IKEA shoe rack — 9,000 rubles.
- Rail for clothes — 1,700 rubles.
