Facade Plaster
Mineral Plaster
The base of mineral plaster is cement. Due to this, mineral plaster, whose price is relatively low, is one of the cheapest among plasters. Mineral aggregate and lime, also included in the composition, in combination with cement provide high strength to the coating.
Mineral plaster becomes stronger over time, but due to its lack of elasticity, it is prone to cracking. On the other hand, another advantage of such plasters is their resistance to mold and moss, and additional additives can ensure its resistance to moisture and other environmental factors. Thanks to its vapor permeability, the plaster is suitable for buildings insulated with mineral wool or polystyrene. The popularity of mineral plaster is also explained by its ease of application. Its color range is somewhat limited: it is mostly white (if lime is in the composition). However, you can choose a special plaster for painting and paint it in the desired color a few days after application.
Mineral plaster, whose price, as already mentioned, is among the lowest, typically ranges from 90 to 1,000 hryvnias per 25 kg in Kyiv and from 200 to 3,500 rubles in Moscow.

Acrylic Plaster
In contrast to mineral plaster, acrylic decorative plaster is made from aqueous dispersion of acrylic resin. Acrylic plaster is supplied as a ready-to-use product, which is very convenient.
Like mineral plaster, this type of coating has good, but slightly lower vapor permeability, which ensures rapid evaporation of moisture entering the building, so water does not accumulate and does not create favorable conditions for mold and other negative effects. Due to its synthetic base, such plasters have good elasticity. At the same time, they are resistant to temperature changes, easily cleaned from dirt, and thanks to special additives, they are additionally protected against fungi and microorganisms.

Stone-Effect Plaster
Plaster can come in textures such as "cork", "lambskin" and "stone-effect." Decorative stone-effect plaster, as the name suggests, contains crushed natural stones (granite, marble, etc.). It is durable, natural in both composition and color, provides protection against moisture, sound and thermal insulation, and can be frost-resistant.

There are also other types of plaster depending on base and texture. When doing exterior finishing yourself, it's important to remember that each part of the wall has specific requirements for finishing materials.
For example, facade plaster must be especially strong. The foundation (coping) is most exposed to damage, moisture, and dirt, so a durable, weather-resistant finish is essential.
Decorative mosaic plaster for the foundation is one of the best options for finishing the lower part of walls. Mosaic plaster is a ready-mixed product made from synthetic resin and natural stone chips, ensuring its strength.
