Texture variety

A key wish of the clients was to make the living room a space for communication rather than TV watching. The designers from Aiya Design proposed creating a neutral interior and focusing on combinations of various textures.

In one room, they paired natural cotton and linen, soft carpet pile with a pleasant-to-the-touch wood. The wall painting unifies all the tones of the interior, and the bright spot is a raspberry-colored armchair.

Large Details

In this interior everything is big: from ceiling height and windows to decor. Designer Diana Mal'tseva's idea was to create a minimalist background using quality finishing materials and add accents in furniture and accessories.

For the walls, they chose water-emulsion paint in various shades of gray. For decoration, large pear-shaped lampshades and mirrors with complex geometric shapes worked perfectly.

Home Library

The highlight of this living room is a huge library with 2000 books. The owners are not afraid of open shelves, and they liked the idea of making books part of the interior. As a result, there's a storage system about 40 linear meters long designed to accommodate even more books.

"The tone of the interior decoration was set by light walls, warm natural wood tones, and live plants. They are complemented by colorful book spines,"— says designer Dmitry Sivak.

Mid-Century Modern Furniture

The overall color palette of this living room is soft and calm, dominated by restrained shades. The designers from OM Design decided to add a bit of rebellion and painted the partition between the bedroom and living room salmon pink. The spot opposite the sofa was occupied by a large painting inspired by Joan Miró's work "Woman and Bird".

Furniture items were chosen from wood and always on legs. They visually appear lighter, making the interior look more airy. They abandoned dense hanging curtains in favor of light Roman blinds. "Exposed" windows were framed with veneered panels.

Scandinavian Style Decor

For wall finishing, they chose textured plaster in gray tones and laid parquet boards on the floor. Designers are not big fans of mixing various materials for flooring in one room, so the surface is uniform throughout.

"Clients leaned towards a strict color palette: gray shades became the main color. For accents, they added dark turquoise — for curtains and patterns on the living room carpet. When choosing furniture, they focused on functionality, simple design, and universal finishes. On this background, decor, modern paintings, and posters look great — all of these can be changed according to mood,"— the authors of the project explain.

Contrast Details

For the living room, they mainly used monochromatic gray paint. This helped visually make the space larger, cleaner, and more minimalist. But contrast black details bring life to the neutral interior: metal loft partition, black chairs in retro style, metal lighting fixtures, and black-and-white textiles. The interior looks graphic yet very cozy.
