This page is also available in the following languages:🇷🇺🇺🇦🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸🇵🇱🇨🇳

A simple and quick renovation that we really love. In the post you will find a step-by-step instruction + tips

All the best is simple. Look how cute this planter turned out to be from a regular IKEA box (we found this idea on the hunker website). Even if you don't have time for renovations, scroll to the end of the post — you'll find tips on decorating your interior with green plants.

What you'll need?

  • IKEA VÄRME box;
  • 4 wooden dowels with a thickness of 2.5 cm;
  • a drill;
  • wood glue or universal adhesive;
  • screws;
  • paint (optional).

Trim the wooden dowels

Choose a comfortable height for yourself. For example, on the photo the legs are 53 cm long.

Marking

Place the dowels where the legs will be and outline them with a pencil or pen.

Drilling holes

Drill holes in the center of the marked legs.

Prepare the dowels

Drill holes in the dowels as well. For a better effect, you can also use glue.

Attach to the box

Use screws to attach the legs to the box as shown in the picture.

Wait a few hours

Done! You can use the planter about four hours later. For example, put pots inside or just fill it with soil and transplant plants (in this case, it's better to put a plastic sheet or bag inside the box).

TIP

Optionally, you can repaint the planter (or just the legs) and coat it with clear varnish. You can read more about how to do this in our article.

No time for renovations? Here are 6 more ideas on how to use plants in interior design:

Fix them to decorative mesh or open shelves — this is also a great way to divide space.

Use hooks, baskets, and pockets for wall storage. For example, in the hallway.

Decorate a wall or bed headboard in the bedroom.

Arrange pots on shelves in the bathroom (if you have free space, of course).

Use open shelves on the kitchen to free up windowsills.

Let trailing plants grow by the window — a great alternative to boring curtains.
