How to Style a Blue Kitchen Uniquely: Example from London
Cobalt, azure, and indigo—these are all different shades of blue, each with its own characteristics and pitfalls. Based on a London kitchen, we explore what to consider when decorating a blue interior.
Owners of a country house with a blue kitchen are Tom and Alexandra Evans. Usually, the couple chose simple achromatic colors for their interiors—white, black, gray, and a few bright accents. But this time, they decided to experiment. Here's what came out of it.

Based on the fundamental rule of color combination 60–30–10, where 60% of the space is the main color, 30% is a partner or additional color, and 10% is an accent color, the couple chose a white background, a blue as the secondary color, and furniture in cognac tone and a red refrigerator as the accent.

It might seem that there is more blue on the kitchen, but it's only at first glance. This effect is created by a specific shade of blue.
Cobalt blue in the apron and lower kitchen cabinets draw attention and stand out prominently. However, daylight from panoramic French doors and a gray floor soften its intensity.

The dining table and church benches in cognac tone were found at a flea market instead of regular chairs. Notice how thoughtfully the L-shaped dining area is arranged.
Despite the small size of the kitchen, Tom and Alexandra manage to seat up to 12 people at the table.

The kitchen cabinets are made from hardwoods of tropical origin. The hardware on the kitchen cabinets, like the dining table, is vintage style.
