Kitchen in Cabinet, Storage Under Stairs: How They Fit Everything Needed in 28 m²

If you are the owner of a small apartment, you probably constantly trip over furniture or a pile of things that need to be stored somewhere. This problem has a solution — vertical zoning. It allows comfortable living even in just 20 square meters.

Let's see how Beriot, Bernardini Arquitectos studio organized such zoning in a 28 m² apartment. It was necessary to create a comfortable interior in a tiny space where all the essentials of daily life could fit.

The architects' work was simplified by the fact that the apartment initially had 3-meter-high ceilings.

This inspired the creation of a multi-level zoning system that included a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and wardrobe.

The sleeping area is located on the second floor, to the right of which is the husband's wardrobe. The staircase leading to the second floor extends and hides another wardrobe — for the wife.

Behind the sliding door under the sleeping area, a built-in kitchen was hidden. Thanks to this solution, the architects managed to increase the useful area of the apartment by 8.5 m²!

Every detail in this apartment was thought out to the smallest degree. All furniture is a single interior item. It was custom-made according to all dimensions and the client's wishes.

That is why it was possible to provide many storage spaces and place everything necessary for the life of a young family.
