This apartment in the center of Paris occupies the entire third floor of an old building. See how a screenwriter, writer, and their two children decorated the interior and took everyone's interests into account. Hint — follow the monkeys!

The owners of this apartment are creative people: he is a writer, she is a screenwriter and film director. Therefore, the spouses approached the interior decoration in an original way.

Unusual appearance to the apartment is also given by its historical "inhabitants" — 100-year-old moldings, a working wood stove and oak parquet Point de Hongrie, or "pine tree," which is a classic among French floors from the XVII century.

Most of their time was spent planning the layout. The reason is that the apartment occupies an entire floor, so in addition to its spacious area they also got a staircase landing. It was not easy to play with it, but the result exceeded all expectations.

The apartment is divided into three zones. All social spaces (living room, dining area, kitchen, library) are in the center, while children's and parents' rooms are located on opposite sides.

This way, both adults and small family members have their own sacred space and even separate bathrooms.

The kitchen more resembles a bar than a place for cooking. The owners are convinced that a bright bar counter in the kitchen is an excellent way to break up routine and add a party atmosphere while cooking and eating.

The refrigerator on the kitchen is hidden behind a mirrored door. The storage system was built into the adjacent pantry. Accent lighting fixtures above the bar counter and the dining table with a blue stone countertop were found at the Paris flea market.

Notably, the kitchen serves as a "zero kilometer" and divides the entire apartment in half. The staircase landing is located right behind the kitchen unit, which was wrapped with a corridor and transformed into a fairy-tale portal from the adult wing to the children's.

Monkeys are just as full-fledged inhabitants of this apartment as its owners. The appearance of these cute monkeys first in the corridor on a coral background and then above doorways in children's rooms signals the beginning of children's territories.

Incidentally, all monkeys were drawn by hand specially by a London graphic designer. Therefore, you won't find identical monkeys; each is unique!

The rooms for the youngest members of the family (children aged two and four) are decorated identically — each has a bunk bed with toy boxes on top and bottom.

However, the main colors in children's rooms are different — pink and yellow. Parents call this color solution "strawberry and vanilla".

Children have their own bathroom. The space is decorated interactively — a bright geometric pattern for mood, a comfortable bathtub with foam and a towel rack in the form of a ladder that you can climb to see the view from the "deck".

Pay attention to the artificial window from the library, which solves the problem of insufficient natural light in the bathroom.

The parents' bedroom is maximally functional. For example, wardrobes were built into the wall, and to stylistically support the moldings in the interior, the wardrobe fronts were covered with molding with an aged finish.

Vibrancy in the adult wing is provided by the bathroom. Its owners decided to fully decorate it with Moroccan tiles. Due to the large area, the pattern looks unobtrusive.
