Colors That Haven't Had Time to Get Old: Example from Sweden
Natural color palette helps soften the harsh climate of northern countries and make the home a bit warmer. Brown, linen, sand, olive, gray, light ochre — all these colors blend well, suit any space and don't get boring quickly. This warm and cozy four-room apartment is proof of that.

The living room and dining area in the apartment are combined. For the walls, a pale olive color was chosen. It serves as a background for all interior details at the same time, but also remains an independent element clearly standing out in the living room.

The dining area is separated from the living room by a functional partition with built-in storage spaces. To define the space, designers also used decorative elements such as a bronze bust and a live plant wall near the dining table. This vertical greening is not only decorative but also purifies the air in the room.

Through an arch, the kitchen is visible from the dining area. This is the smallest space in the apartment, so to visually expand it, designers used a mirror backsplash. The kitchen in the apartment is a perfect example of how earth tones blend together: dark brown cabinets, sandy walls, and light gray glossy worktop.

Bedrooms also use natural color combinations. Warmth and airiness here are created through layered linen monochrome textiles — pillows, blankets, and curtains.

The bathroom in the apartment is standard and convenient. Gray tiles here harmonize well with the same olive walls.

Another interesting detail in the apartment is a loft-style hallway. The pale olive background is still preserved here, but brick in the finish, a Moroccan rug, and iron barrels instead of chairs clearly stand out against the overall interior. Plus, instead of conventional dressers and wardrobes, designers placed a synthesizer here and added an additional relaxation zone by the window. The only thing that gives away this hallway is the clothing hanger and shelf for shoes. An interesting solution.
