Homes in rustic style are always like a forest under the roof. Add spruce branches with cones, decorated with glowing garlands and golden New Year's balls — and you'll get a real fairy-tale forest. This home is exactly like that, though it wasn't always so.

The house welcomed its true owners, having been an old barn — hence the high ceilings, solid ceiling beams, and stone masonry that was deliberately preserved in some rooms. Only the glazing was changed: panoramic windows from floor to ceiling were installed instead of one wall.

From the start, the barn heritage worked in designers’ favor, as warm wood and stone tones combined with wicker chandeliers, oak furniture, and gold and turquoise interior details make any interior cozy. That’s all that was needed.

The dining room, kitchen, and living room are combined, with all the space flooded with light. Just look at those windows! For Christmas decoration, a green-gold palette was used instead of the traditional red New Year’s one — it enhances the natural interior.

Turquoise linen textiles added vibrant accents to the dining room. They blend perfectly with gold candleholders and plant compositions. Instead of common ornaments and plastic decorations, branches of fir, pine, cones, and local plants were used.

The living room maintained the same color palette: gold, turquoise, and warm beige. Instead of artificial decorative Christmas trees on the coffee table, there’s a wicker basket with New Year's balls and leaves. Everything around is decorated with live pine garlands, even the fireplace and chandelier were dressed for New Year. Plants were arranged in glass bottles instead of vases.

The Christmas tree wasn’t hidden under toys — there are minimal ornaments here. However, attention was paid to the base of the tree: instead of a plastic planter, a plastic basket was used.

The bedroom in the house was also decorated. Here, garlands are made of New Year’s cards.
