Scandinavian Studio Apartment with Kitchen in Hallway
In this Swedish compact apartment of 30 square meters, everything is as neat as can be: the layout is maximally simple and includes one living room, a hallway, storage space, and a bathroom. There is only one window, and although the room has enough daylight, the hallway is always in semi-darkness.

To make the small space comfortable, designers took an unconventional approach and created another hallway from the kitchen cabinet and a tall storage unit.
Since the space turned out quite narrow, they made the upper cabinets in the kitchen open to add air.

The cabinet was made with a loft to create a niche and accommodate sleeping space, as well as hide the protruding ventilation duct box in the ceiling.

Thanks to a series of track lighting in the dark and 'kitchen' hallway, the problem of insufficient daylight was solved. Additionally, a track with ceiling lights was installed through the room to the window, giving the ceiling proper rhythm and contrast.

Next to the kitchen, there is a dining area with a small dining table, and near the sleeping area – a mini living room with a sofa, coffee table, and a pair of footstools. Each zone is compact yet fully functional.

When the space is thoughtfully planned, all that remains is to add warmth and homely comfort. Designers achieved the desired effect quite traditionally: with tactile, patterned throws, cushions, and a soft rug on the floor, multi-level light sources, and furniture finished in light wood.

The space by the window turned out to be successful and expressive, where designers planned a full-length curtain from floor to ceiling in the tone of the cabinets.
Besides reliable protection from sunlight and unwanted glances, the large area of the dense graphite-toned curtain serves as a large color spot in the interior, "uniting" several zones and numerous elements of the interior into a single cohesive look.
