Interior in Sweden in the Style of Ironic Eclecticism
Most modern Scandinavian interiors are eclectic, but this one stands out among others. To achieve an engaging atmosphere, stylists from the real estate agency Historiska Hem built the interior on contrasts, trying to 'befriend' elements of strict classicism with decor full of humor and playfulness.

The corner apartment of 92 square meters in Stockholm is located in a historical building of considerable age — it is over 120 years old. In addition to ceilings that are 3.5 meters high, future residents will be delighted by luxurious doors with expressive cornices, tall window treatments on the ceilings, and other classic elements.

However, the stylists did not rush to maintain it. The main elements used in the interior are modern, and the furniture base in the form of a sofa, side tables, bookshelves, and chandeliers were chosen neutral and background.

Unusual solutions begin with the dining group. It was assembled from a minimalist wooden table and various chairs made of wood and plastic — transparent and in various colors.
The turquoise chair appeared unexpectedly in the cheerful set: since all rooms except the child's room are planned in an open layout, the turquoise chair connects the kitchen with the bedroom interior where a painting in tone is hanging.

Each room features some original detail. For example, in the bedroom it is a floor-standing bookshelf instead of a headboard, in the dining room — a console shelf-staircase, in the living room — an unusual-shaped plastic table, and in the hallway — doors with a stylized worn-out paint finish.

To give the interior a playful vibe, bright posters with mischievous themes were hung on the walls and complemented with trendy toys designed by Tatsuhiko Akashi. Do they clash with classicism? Perhaps. In any case, the eclectic 'cocktail' of classical foundation and ultra-modern accents turned out fresh and truly memorable in its 'taste'.
