6 Color Solutions for Small Apartments
Do you have a favorite color but don't know which shades to pair it with? You don't need to study the laws of the color wheel or rack your brains about how chosen tones will look together. We've already done this work with the brand Tikkurila: selected ready-made solutions for small apartments, tested on real interiors. You just have a pleasant task left — to choose the perfect option.
Crème Brûlée
Key color: Scandinavian white.
Complementary colors: gray, powder pink, beige.
The most famous trick to expand space is to paint the walls white. To avoid a monochromatic interior, we suggest diluting the color palette with pastel shades.
Design: Anna and Ilya DobrovolskyFlamingo
Key color: pink.
Complementary colors: red, dark green, light beige.
In a small space, pink can be the main color. Dark green and gold accents will prevent your home from becoming a Nafta-Nafta dwelling. By the way, Flamingo was Tikkurila's Color of the Year 2019.

EmeraldKey color: emerald.
Complementary colors: gray shades, yellow-green.
One of the most relevant colors of the next season will add depth and coziness to a small space. Light finishing and lime accents will complement the palette.
Design: Julia Shmidt, Alexandra TaranovaGreen
Key color: grass green.
Complementary colors: orange, blue, red, dark gray.
If your favorite green is warm, choose suitable shades from the same warm palette. Small cool blue or gray accents will balance the overall picture.
Design: Julia Veselova
SmokeKey color: gray.
Complementary colors: powder pink, dark blue, gold.
Noble gray and light pink – a combination that has already become a classic. Velvet blue and gold accessories will give the room elegance and neoclassical features.
Design: Anna Modzharo
AzureKey color: sky blue.
Complementary colors: brick, graphite, white.
In a small space, an active combination of sky blue and white creates an atmosphere of 'airiness'. To avoid boredom in cool tones, add some 'sunshine' with orange, brick or gold details.

SunKey color: yellow.
Complementary colors: brown, white, bright violet.
Choosing yellow as the main color is a bold and unconventional choice, and for small rooms it's also very advantageous. Rooms begin to glow from within, and bright violet accents give the interior individuality.
