Cozy Studio Apartment in Sweden with Fireplace in Bedroom
The layout of this studio in Stockholm is the work of Swedish interior designer Emma Fisher. The 67-square-meter apartment with spacious rooms and a colorful fireplace in the bedroom could be called exemplary, if not for the curved bend of the wall that encompasses the kitchen and part of the hallway.
Therefore, it was important not only to decorate the apartment in an attractive way for future sale, but also to correct its quirky spatial features.
Emma loves interiors with 'living' brick in the finish. Discovering old brick masonry on the problematic wall, the decorator decided to play on this — and left a fragment of the wall cleared. Warm terracotta and expressive texture of brick draw attention to the neutral kitchen and divert attention from the inconvenience.

The remaining walls were painted white, and the rooms — in beige-gray color. This warm, homey tone is another trick of the stylist's projects.

A large multi-seater sofa in the living room and a bed with a high headboard in the bedroom formed the basis of the room furnishings. In general, large, well-readable furniture and decor items in this interior are used to the maximum. For example, wide-format paintings, large chandeliers and a mirror in a thick frame.

Such items look great in spacious but not overly large spaces, setting the right scale for the rooms. Here, they also help to play with a large old fireplace.

To make the setting graphic, Emma used dark and black tones in accents. And she found just a little space for details: vases, figurines and mini-sculptures on the background of large items look particularly effective.
