Small Apartment with Proper Zoning

Well-organized space with convenient placement of functional zones is not afraid of even the most modest area. For example, the apartment in Stockholm with an area of 28 square meters has a layout that causes no problems, and every meter here is in its place.

This studio has at least three advantages. There is enough space in the corridor for spacious storage systems, the kitchen is combined with the living room and yet is almost isolated: it 'hides' in the corner and is separated from the parquet on the floor of the living room by contrasting dark tiles.

Finally, the third trump card: a niche is provided for sleeping space in the apartment. If desired, it can be supplemented with a dense curtain matching the wall color for more intimacy.

The styling team at the real estate agency Historiska Hem wanted to select furniture proportional to the scale of the space. The task was perfectly solved by concise chairs, a transformer dining table, a tiny coffee table, and an ethereal sofa — there was a model just the right size for the wall.

A bright accent in the interior was a retro model of Smeg refrigerator. Just like the rest of the furniture, it is also compact, and the black color does not let the eye get bored in a monochrome setting.

The basis of the apartment decoration was reliable, time-tested techniques: natural tones, textured tactile materials, and plants in large pots. And of course, paintings: this decorator's trick does not take up space at all but rather sets a lyrical mood for the interior with motifs of nature and bird images.
