Namibia

The Kolmanskop settlement experienced a construction boom at the beginning of the twentieth century when the Germans discovered diamond deposits there. The diamonds ran out, and the houses were left to the desert.

China

The valley where the city of Shichen was located was flooded to build a hydroelectric power station.

USA

Not the fate that was expected for the magnificent Michigan railroad station, which ceased operations in the 90s. Today no one dares to restore it — too expensive. This abandoned railway station can be seen in Eminem's movie "8 Mile".

Michigan has many abandoned places with bright architecture. For example, this cinema hall.

And in Texas, the most ordinary abandoned houses inspire photographer Bill Carter. His photographs transform their interiors into works of art.

In Massachusetts, funds are currently being raised to restore an abandoned theater. It's a pity if such beauty fades away!

Once the island of Holland was inhabited by boatmen and farmers, but the water started rising, and the land began sinking. The last house stood alone until it collapsed in October 2010.

Russia

There are countless abandoned wooden houses in our country. Some of the most famous ones are the peasant Ivan Dmitrievich Poliashov's house in Pogorelovo and the forest house of Martyan Sazonov in Ostashevo village. The latter, however, was recently restored.

Taiwan

And finally — a Halloween-like story. The Sen-Ji resort in Taiwan was built for local wealthy people, but sometimes a worker breaks a hand or a stick falls on someone. The construction was abandoned, and clearly evil spirits once inhabited that place.
