How to Use Geometry in a Small Room?

Geometric patterns can make a room visually larger. All you need to know are a few simple rules.

  • Choose wallpaper with vertical stripes — they visually stretch the ceiling upward.
  • Or horizontal stripes, to visually make the wall longer and the room wider.
  • Angular lines and shapes, such as diamonds, can also help stretch the ceiling.
  • However, the size of geometric shapes on the walls should not be too large — the desired effect won't be achieved.

Adding Geometry as an Accent

This is how you can diversify the interior. What can you do?

Wallpaper with a geometric pattern on just one wall. Or decorate the wall with wooden or 3D panels. Lay tiles on the kitchen backsplash in an unusual way. Or choose tiles with a geometric pattern. Place a sofa or armchair with a geometric print upholstery. And don't forget about decor — pillows, throws, curtains or rugs.Design: Milla KolkovaDesign: Milla Kolkova
What to Pair With and How?

A winning combination is a graphic pattern on a monochrome background. That is, if you choose wallpaper with a geometric design, furniture should be without patterns. If you decide to lay a large carpet with a graphic pattern, the walls and floor should also be monochrome.

Don't be afraid to mix several patterns in accessories. For example, place three pillows with geometric designs. A flower pattern combined with geometry also looks great.

And what to buy for an interior with geometric prints?

Wallpaper with a geometric pattern is what creates the foundation of an original interior. Use it for an accent wall in the living room or bedroom. On its background, monochrome furniture will look great.
