How to Arrange the Entry Hall in a Country House: 7 Tips from a Professional
Choosing materials, organizing storage, and not forgetting about important details
Tatyana Artemyeva shares useful lifestyle hacks for arranging the entry hall — they will be useful not only to homeowners but also to those living in regular apartments.

Make a bet on practical materials
Choose easily cleanable materials for walls, and for the floor — tiles or ceramic granite. Well-suited are painted matte cabinet facades of dense colors — they will not show stains. The accent can be made on the tile pattern — choose an interesting and contrasting layout with a trendy geometric design. It will also visually divert attention from dirty traces.

Devote one wall entirely to a built-in cabinet
Let it go up to the ceiling, so even a small entry hall will look more spacious. In this cabinet, you should keep only the clothes and shoes you use frequently in the current season. Provide separate sections for garden or workshop clothing, and pull-out drawers for outdoor children's toys and other small items.

Some shelves can be open
It's convenient to put baskets or boxes on them, for example, for household shoes. Many don't like traditional wall panels with hooks, but it still makes sense to set aside a small segment for such a panel — it's convenient to use for guests. You can sit on the lower drawers, but placing cushions and other textiles there is not very practical.

Leave one lower section of the cabinet unconstructed
To avoid putting dirty shoes in the cabinet and at the same time not leaving them visible, leave one lower section of the cabinet unconstructed. Cleaning will become easier and more order will be achieved.

Make the panels and hangers by yourself
Instead of a solid panel, the purpose of which is to protect the wall finish, you can make a panel from wooden planks or slats. This solution is still popular and inexpensive, and it's easy to make such a panel yourself.

If there's not enough space for a panel, replace it with an unconventional ready-made or custom-made hanger. Place it closer to the door.

Don't forget about small details
They can become decoration. A pair of hooks near the entrance door will allow hanging bags and freeing up your hands immediately upon entering the house. A small shelf to conveniently place a wallet or glasses, an original key holder, or a hanger for dog leashes — all these items better organize daily routines and add individuality.

If you have a dog — set up a place for washing paws after walks
For dog owners, especially large breeds, I suggest considering the idea of setting up a special tub right in the entry hall. You need to understand how to solve the water supply and drainage issues, which may not be easy. But it will simplify returning from walks!
