Maximizing 29 Square Meters: A Studio Apartment in Sweden
Usually, small spaces are decorated as brightly as possible, or even totally white. Nevertheless, decorators from the Swedish real estate agency Nooks are convinced that a small apartment is not an excuse to deny yourself the pleasure of enjoying rich colors. This 29 square meter flat is a clear example of that.

It's not easy to decorate such a small space vibrantly without overloading it and visually making it even smaller. The challenge was further complicated by the fact that the living room was not combined with the kitchen, as is common practice. In essence, the apartment consists of several tight "boxes" – living room, kitchen, bedroom, and hallway.

To prevent color from overwhelming everything around it, all walls were painted with a gap at the ceiling, lightening the space with an additional dose of white. The wardrobes in the living room and shelves in the bedroom were painted to match the walls. This clever trick helps make the space more cohesive.

The kitchen was left white: there is not enough natural daylight in the room, so color here would only be a hindrance. However, creative accent touches were thought out – pink skirting and a bright towel.

Besides the bold color choice, decorators considered ergonomic furniture and convenient storage, making full use of every centimeter with maximum efficiency. There are boxes under the sofa in the living room, stackable stools, and tall wardrobes reaching the ceiling in every room. There is even a mini walk-in closet – custom-made to utilize free space in the bedroom.

There are no doors between rooms (the bathroom is not counted), and the bedroom is hidden behind a curtain matching the wall color and the living room curtains. However, doors in such small spaces only get in the way. Since each room has a different color and everything is visible, the overall interior looks like a charming dollhouse – in the best sense.
