How to Choose Appliances for a Small Kitchen

Many foreign designers say they prefer small kitchens – they are much cozier. The belief that modern household appliances can't fit in a small kitchen is a misconception. Manufacturers don't forget about people who value the coziness of small spaces. What would suit a small kitchen?

1. Range Hood with Storage Space

A full-size range hood is a great appliance, but on a kitchen with an area of 6–7 square meters it would look simply ridiculous. Choose a more compact model: why waste valuable space?

2. Narrow Dishwasher

The only thing you can't compromise on under any circumstances is the usual level of comfort. Even on the smallest kitchen, you can fit a narrow dishwasher – it only needs 45 centimeters.

3. Two-Burner Cooktop

Think about how much you value the ability to cook three or four dishes at once. If not – choose a small cooktop, it will save space on the countertop.

4. Under-Cabinet Fridge and Freezer

This is very convenient: you can place them next to each other or on different walls. A small fridge has its advantages – you will always eat fresh food, which is much healthier.

5. 60s-Style Fridge

Strange as it may sound, it will look great even on a seven-square-meter kitchen if you choose the right surrounding. Remember the kitchens of our grandmothers – they had almost the same models. How many guests could fit on such a kitchen!
