Countryside Cottage in Denmark: Old Walls, Modern Interior
A small white cottage is just 20 minutes away from the Danish capital, but even in photos you can feel how peaceful and quiet it is inside and around the house.

Peaceful and serene atmosphere is created by old wooden beams that have darkened with time, a white-painted wooden floor, and white walls like in most Scandinavian homes. A modern metal staircase leading to the second floor looks like an art piece against the old floor and ceiling.

On the second floor, where the bedrooms are located, the beams were painted white to make the ceiling look higher, while on the first floor they were simply cleaned and left as is. The old ceiling creates a pleasant contrast with the modern interior consisting of replicas of works by famous Danish designers. Kitchen chairs are clearly relatives of Arne Jacobsen’s "Chair No. 7". IKEA items were also included – a white metal cabinet fitted perfectly into the bedroom interior.

The house is quiet and peaceful in any weather, but in warm seasons the best place to be is on the open terrace. Woven chairs and sofas with cushions and throws, a side table and a stool that serves as an additional small table suggest that the whole family gathers here for breakfast and lunch to enjoy a beautiful view of the waves of the North Sea.
