Designers from Jersey Ice Cream Co. transformed a dark, rundown apartment in a Victorian house into modern apartments within three weeks, preserving the patina of age

Jersey Ice Cream Co. is a studio that works on a rotating basis: Tara Mangini and Percy Bright come to their clients' homes and first create a story for them, then develop the design project. The work on it usually takes several months, after which the designers move on to the next client in another state or even country.

The charming pink-gray apartment was decorated in just three weeks. After all, it's London! A city where you can find anything by wandering through flea markets and sales. You just need to have a taste for vintage items that Jersey Ice Cream Co. loves to use in their projects.

In America, Jersey Ice Cream Co. often has to age houses and apartments; here, the apartment needed to be rejuvenated. The owner, food blogger Skye McAlpine, bought it six years ago. The apartment was located in a Victorian-era house and had such a view as if nothing had changed in it for over a hundred years.

All within three weeks, American designers helped the apartment shed fifty years and filled it with light, air, and elegant items. Some of these could have easily been in this house during Queen Victoria's time, though they look much younger.

For example, the bedroom could have looked exactly like this – it is decorated in the Shinto style, which became fashionable in the eighteenth century. Wallpaper with a 'Chinese' pattern was complemented by vintage furniture matching the style. Especially nice is the nightstand with bamboo legs and butterflies on the front.

The pink-gray palette, in which the entire interior is rendered – not British, but a reminder of Venice, where the apartment owner grew up. A spacious kitchen with open shelves lined with grains and spices – a place for culinary experiments about which she writes in her blog.

Designers didn't hide the glass jars with spices behind cabinet doors – on simple wooden shelves, they look like art objects and also spark imagination, making you think of dozens of wonderful dishes that can be made with them.
