8 mistakes when renovating a bathroom
Bathroom design may seem like a simple task. However, even a very careful approach does not always protect from mistakes. Let's recall once again the most common ones
Creating a bathroom design may seem at first glance quite a simple task. However, even a very careful approach does not always protect from certain subsequent mistakes. Therefore, let's recall the most common ones again so that we can still achieve the desired result.

1. Small budget for big ideas
Some include 15-20 percent of unexpected expenses in their upcoming costs, while others just rely on luck.
It's important to remember that incorrectly installed communications or faulty plumbing can lead to serious negative consequences, so when renovating a bathroom, it's best not to skimp.

2. Incorrect installation
If you're not particularly familiar with the nuances of plumbing, placement of electrical outlets, and other aspects related to bathroom renovation, it's better to hire a specialist.
Even in such cases, keep an eye on the quality and progress of work: does the bathtub wobble, at what height is the sink installed, is the siphon installation for drainage done correctly, is there any water leakage or sharp odors, where are the outlets located and what type of them. Also pay attention to how securely the mirror is attached to the wall.

3. Unrational planning
Don't forget to plan your movement and actions within the bathroom. Even if it's small in size, rational use of space will help you avoid future inconveniences.
Take into account not only the room's dimensions but also your own height. For that, just imagine how you'd ideally arrange everything. This will help create a so-called starting point, and the area and intended contents will then refine the final result.

4. Not thinking ahead
Try to plan with future prospects in mind. Think through the bathroom space thoroughly so that adjustments can be made at any time in response to changes. What if a neighbor moves in, or maybe you need to accommodate relatives for more than just one day?

5. Chasing fashion trends
Today designers offer many original ideas. However, remember the practical side of using any particular item.
It could happen that an unusual sink shape causes water to splash around, and a complex mixer might just be inconvenient. A lot of features can become another marketing trick.
Think about what you actually need and how you'll use it. Bright and even loud colors are better used in accessories – if necessary, you can easily replace them with others.

6. Inappropriate materials
A bathroom is one of the rooms where high humidity and temperature fluctuations prevail, so it's essential to choose materials suitable for such environments.
It’s also important to select special paint that has unique properties. This way, you won’t have to constantly do cosmetic repairs and avoid excess mold or mildew growth.

7. Poor lighting
Soft, dim lighting can be a great factor for creating a relaxing atmosphere. But for daily routine, such a lighting setup isn’t the best solution.
Insufficient light often makes skin look tired and unhealthy. Additionally, lack of proper lighting can affect your safety. Therefore, light sources should be placed near the mirror and above the bathtub or shower cabin – at least reducing the chance of slipping and falling.

8. Poor ventilation
Take care of proper ventilation to avoid mold, mildew, and other unpleasant consequences of high humidity. The method of ventilation should be planned even before starting the renovation work.
