How to Dust Your Interior: 12 Useful Lifehacks
Imagine you are looking at photos "before and after" that are loved by professional interior designers: here is your apartment before the changes, and here is how it looks after. A stunning result! It's hard to believe, but sometimes achieving such an effect doesn't require major rearrangements. A little wall restoration, changing a rug, adding a few original details - and voilà! You can easily update your interior, tidy up, and make your home look completely different.
1. Free Vertical Space
It's not just scattered items on the floor or endless stacks of books and magazines that look untidy. Cluttered notes and pictures on a magnetic board or refrigerator is the answer to what's wrong with your kitchen. Place children's drawings in frames and hang them on the wall, remove old reminders - in general, clear vertical space as often as possible.

2. All Smooth
Carefully inspect your plastered walls for scratches or other minor damage. On the problematic area, remove all the plaster down to the raw wall, then apply a new layer and smooth it out. A lime and soap or milk solution can help remove stains from the walls.

3. Bright Evenings
This obvious tip is often overlooked by many, unfortunately. Yet it's precisely burnt-out bulbs that make the atmosphere of your home less cozy and sometimes even eerie. Replace old dim bulbs with soft white ones, as good lighting makes all the details in a room look completely different.

4. Important Details
Baseboards, window sills, cornices, curtains - we pay so little attention to these small details, yet their imperfect state can ruin the look of even the most perfect room. Occasionally wipe all these elements with a damp cloth, and everything will be fine.
5. Hospitality Rules
The mat by the front door immediately forms an impression of the apartment you're entering. Agree, a dirty and stained Welcome! sign won't look welcoming. So don't forget to change the mat occasionally, and clean it with shampoo or dry powder. By the way, rubber door mats are the most practical.

6. On/Off
Worn and faded light switches are big enemies of your walls. Don't be stingy and replace them if wiping with a damp cloth no longer helps. You can also remove the covers (if they aren't enamel-coated) and wash them in a dishwasher.
7. Looking Down
Pay attention to carpets and rugs: it's not necessary to call professionals to refresh them. A grandmother's tried-and-true method: sprinkle the carpet with salt, scrub with a brush, sweep it with a broom soaked in warm water, and vacuum thoroughly. You can also try refreshing the color: mix one tablespoon of salt with two teaspoons of lemon acid in a liter of water and apply it to the carpet with a brush.

8. Bright Spots
Heavy furniture in dark colors can literally draw light out of the room, creating a suffocating atmosphere. A simple solution: cushions! Their bright colors and varied patterns and textures create the necessary accents and bring a positive mood.
9. Desk Variations
A couple of worn-out magazines and a TV remote, agree, is not the best decoration for a coffee table. Place a decorative vase on it to store everything you need (the same remote that should always be within reach), and then the possibilities for decoration depend only on your imagination: plants, accessories, candles, photo frames - there are many options for decorating.

10. Organized Gallery
Dozens of pictures and photos hung on the wall (and in a random order) seem to say: we've been living here for ages. That's not the best statement. Don't try to fill every square centimeter of space. On the contrary, in a hallway hang works only on one side of the wall (this is an excellent visual expansion technique), and in a room, always leave some space for eye rest - an empty wall.
11. Tidy Windows
Even if you regularly vacuum the blinds, that might not be enough. Small stains can be removed with a regular eraser. There is also thorough washing: roll the blinds into tubes and leave them in warm soapy water for half an hour, then let them dry thoroughly.

12. Soft Landing
Plants always save the situation! But just filling the house with live flowers, neat succulents, or decorative trees is not enough. Use the most unexpected items as pots: start with simple cups and then follow your imagination.
